Modal Popup Widget for Elementor Pro

A popup opened by a button, a link or automatically

Overview

What Modal Popup does

Modal Popup shows text, an image, a video or a saved template in a popup. It opens from its own trigger, from any link to its ID, or by itself on page load, scroll, exit intent or idle time. Use it for offers, newsletter forms, videos and notices.

Features

What it can do

  • Four content types: text editor, saved template, image, or a YouTube, Vimeo or file video

  • Triggers on the page: button, text link, icon, image, or nothing

  • Any link to the popup ID on the same page opens the popup

  • Automatic opening after page load, after scrolling, on exit intent, or after idle time

  • Show-again limits: every page view, once per visit, once every few days, or only once

  • Six positions: center, top, bottom, bottom left corner, bottom right corner and full screen

  • Six open animations plus none, with an animation speed setting

  • Closing by close button, background click, Esc key, a timer, or a click on a link inside

Use cases

When to use it

Discount offers

Use the text editor content with a title and a button, and open it when the visitor is about to leave.

Newsletter forms

Build the form in a saved template and pick it as the popup content. Forms work inside the popup.

Video on demand

Open a YouTube or Vimeo video from a button or image. The player loads only when the popup opens.

Setup

How to set it up

What you need: A saved template is needed only when Content is set to Saved Template.

  1. Drag the Modal Popup widget to the place where the trigger should appear.

  2. In the Popup Content section, choose the Content type and fill in the Popup Title and the text, template, image or video.

  3. In the Open With section, pick the Trigger on the Page and set its text or icon.

  4. To open the popup from other links, enter a Popup ID for Links and link to that ID with a # in front.

  5. For automatic opening, choose an option under Also Open Automatically, then set Show Automatically and Open Automatically On.

  6. In the Layout and Closing section, choose the Position, the Open Animation and the ways to close.

FAQ

Questions and answers

How do I open the popup from a menu item or another button?

Enter a name in Popup ID for Links, for example my-popup, and set the link of the menu item or button to #my-popup. Any link to that ID on the same page opens the popup.

Will the video keep playing after the popup is closed?

No. A YouTube or Vimeo player is loaded when the popup opens and removed again when it closes.

Can I show the popup only once to each visitor?

Yes. Set Show Automatically to Only Once, or pick Once per Visit or Once Every Few Days.
