Advanced Divider Free

How to set up and style the Advanced Divider widget in Elementor.

Advanced Divider draws a line between parts of a page, with text, an icon or both in the middle. Pick from 11 line styles, from a plain solid line to zigzag and wave patterns, and let the lines draw themselves in when the divider scrolls into view.

Part of: Bright Addons (free).

Set it up

  1. Drag the Advanced Divider widget into a container.

  2. In Divider, choose a Line Style.

  3. Pick the Middle Content: None, Text, Icon or Icon and Text, and fill in the Text or Icon.

  4. Set Content Position, Width and Alignment.

  5. Switch on Draw Lines When Visible if you want the lines to grow in.

  6. In the Style tab, set the line Color, Weight or Pattern Height and the Space Above and Below.

Text The words shown in the middle.
Text Tag The HTML tag for the text, for example a heading tag when the text works as a section title.
Icon The icon shown in the middle.
Content Position Left, center or right.
Line Before Content Length of the short line when the content sits on the left or right.
Width How wide the whole divider is.
Alignment Where the divider sits when it is narrower than the column.
Draw Lines When Visible The lines grow out from the middle the first time the divider scrolls into view.

Style options

These sections are in the Style tab.

  • Line

color, second color for the gradient, weight, pattern height, space around the content and space above and below.

  • Text

    color and typography.

  • Icon

color, background color, size, padding, border radius and space between icon and text.

Tips

  • Weight applies to the plain styles; the patterned styles use Pattern Height instead.

  • When the middle text works as a real section title, set Text Tag to a heading tag so it shows up in the page outline.

  • The draw-in effect does not run for visitors who ask their device for less motion; they see the finished line.

Questions and answers

Can I use the divider without any text or icon?

Yes. Set Middle Content to None and you get a styled line on its own.

How do I make a two color line?

Choose the Gradient line style, then set Color and Second Color in the Line style section.

Does the draw-in effect replay when I scroll back?

No. The lines grow in once, the first time the divider scrolls into view.
