Text Marquee Pro

How to set up and style the Text Marquee widget in Elementor.

Text Marquee scrolls a row of items in a loop that never shows a gap. Each item can be text with an optional icon, or an image, and the strip can move left, right, up or down. Use it for service lists, client logos, announcements and decorative ribbons.

Part of: Bright Addons Pro.

Set it up

  1. Drag Text Marquee onto the page and open the Items section.

  2. Edit the default items or add new ones. For each, choose Type, then enter Text and an optional Icon, or pick an Image.

  3. Set Text Style to Filled or Outline for each text item, and add a Link if the item should be clickable.

  4. Open Separator and choose Icon, Text / Emoji, Dot or None.

  5. Open Marquee Settings and set Direction and Speed (pixels per second).

  6. Decide what happens on hover with Pause on Hover or Slow Down on Hover Instead, and switch Fade Edges on or off.

  7. Style the row, items, images and separator in the Style tab.

Style options

These sections are in the Style tab.

  • Row

background, border, shadow, border radius and padding of the row, plus Space Between Rows and a Second Row background, text color and tilt angle when the second row is on.

  • Items

Space Between Items, typography, text color and background for normal and hover, Fill Outline Text on Hover, Outline Text Stroke, border, radius, padding, and the item icon size, color and spacing.

  • Images

height, width, border radius, and CSS filters and opacity for normal and hover.

  • Separator

size, color and Spin Animation (shown when a separator is used).

Tips

  • The second row is only available for Left and Right. A vertical marquee always has one row.

  • Slow Down on Hover Instead only appears after you turn Pause on Hover off.

  • The marquee pauses by itself while it is off screen, and it does not scroll for visitors who ask their device for reduced motion.

  • Image items default to 48px high. Set Height in Style, Images so logos of different sizes line up.

Questions and answers

Does the speed change on phones or with more items?

No. Speed is set in pixels per second, so the strip moves at the same pace whatever the content length or screen size.

Can I mix logos and text in one marquee?

Yes. Each item has its own Type, so text items and image items can sit in the same strip.

Can marquee items be links?

Yes. Every item has a Link field. The repeated copies used to fill the loop are hidden from screen readers and keyboard focus.

How do I make the diagonal ribbon effect?

Set Tilt Angle in Marquee Settings. With a second row, set its own Tilt Angle under Style, Row to cross the two bands.
