Store Locator Pro

How to set up and style the Store Locator widget in Elementor.

Store Locator shows your locations as a list next to a map with markers. Visitors can search, filter by category, and sort by distance from their own position. The map uses the Leaflet library that ships with the plugin and OpenStreetMap map pictures by default, and you type the coordinates of each location yourself.

Part of: Bright Addons Pro. Before you start: The latitude and longitude of each location. The map pictures load from OpenStreetMap or the map service you choose, so mention it in your privacy notice. The location button works on https sites only.

Set it up

  1. Drag Store Locator onto the page and open Locations.

  2. For each row, type the Name and Address, then the Latitude and Longitude of the building.

  3. Add Phone, Opening Hours, Categories / Tags and an Image where you have them.

  4. In Layout, choose where the list sits and when list and map stack.

  5. In Search and Filters, switch the Search Field, the location button, the Distance Filter and the Category Filter on or off.

  6. In Map, pick the Map Source and Marker Shape, and set Start Zoom if Fit All Markers on Load is off.

  7. Style the search bar, list rows, markers and popup in the Style tab.

Tips

  • There is no address lookup. Type the Latitude and Longitude of each location, or paste both numbers into Latitude.

  • The search looks only in your own location data (name, address and categories). It does not look up places on the map.

  • The public OpenStreetMap server is meant for light use. A busy site should use its own tile provider through Custom tile address.

  • If the map pictures cannot load, the list, the search and the directions still work.

Questions and answers

Do I need a Google Maps key?

No. The default Map Source is OpenStreetMap, which needs no key. A key is only needed if you choose Google Maps, and it must have the Map Tiles API switched on.

Can I type an address and get the marker?

No. The widget does not look up addresses. Enter the coordinates of each location by hand.

What is loaded from other sites?

The map pictures (tiles) load from the chosen map service in the browser of the visitor once the map scrolls into view. The map code itself ships with the plugin.

Is the position of the visitor sent anywhere?

No. The browser is asked only when the button is clicked, and the position stays in the browser.
