Wrapper Link Pro

How to set up and style the Wrapper Link extension in Elementor.

Wrapper Link makes a whole widget, container, section or column clickable on the live page. Links, buttons and form fields inside it keep working by themselves. The element can be reached with the Tab key and opened with Enter, and it can have a name for screen readers.

Part of: Bright Addons Pro.

Set it up

  1. Select the element, open the Advanced tab and open the section Bright: Wrapper Link.

  2. Type or paste the address in Link, or pick a dynamic tag.

  3. Open the link options and choose to open in a new window if needed.

  4. Fill in Name for Screen Readers, for example Read the case study.

  5. Open the live page and click the element. The link does not work inside the editor.

Options

These options are in the Advanced tab of the element.

Tips

  • The link is not active in the Elementor editor, so the element can still be selected and edited. Test it on the live page.

  • Selecting text inside the element does not count as a click.

  • Holding Ctrl or Cmd while clicking opens the address in a new tab.

  • The element is made clickable by a script and is not a real link tag, so the right click menu of the browser does not offer link options for it.

Questions and answers

Will the buttons inside my container still work?

Yes. Links, buttons, form fields and media players inside the element keep their own behavior. Only clicks on the rest of the element open the wrapper link.

Why does nothing happen when I click in the editor?

The wrapper link is switched off while editing. It works on the live page.

Which addresses can I use?

Web addresses (http and https), mailto and tel addresses, and addresses on the same site, including section links that start with #.

Can keyboard users open it?

Yes. The element can be reached with the Tab key, shows a focus outline and opens with Enter.
